    I forgot to give credits..

The 'humaraforum' for providing me the initial impetus..'Google' for coming up with results everytime i wished to confirm or wanted more information.

And all those who commented on the previous post for taking me down the memory lane with them

    Thankyou!

OMG!! This is an awesome effort. Wow!! Loved it. You have almost covered most of the shows. I rememeber a lot of these but not all. Let me try to remember some of the ones that may not be here...

    1. Lux Kya Scene Hain
    2. Gayab - India's first good quality Animation

By the way, I loved "Gul Gulshan Gulfam" and "Hum Log" was virtually our first soap opera and I used to imitate Late Ashok Kumar's voice. It was so innovative way to end the show and keep people guessing. "Dekh Bhai Dekh" was ofcourse the most funny serial of all times, alomst on the lines of "Bill Cosby Show".

Oye "Ek Do Teen Chaar" was such a rage. OMG!! The best show ever. Thank You for reminding me and taking me to the past.

Karam Chand was solely responsible for increase in sale of carrots in India...he he

Kile ka Rahesya...I even remember its last episode and its ending. I have a very funny story about it. I used to come home from my cricket practice around the time the serial would start and I could hear the music of it on every TV Channel as it used to come at 8ish. I used to run home, firstly so that I don't miss the episode and secondly coz I was scared of the music and roads used to be empty...LOL

Tenaliraam was another good one. Junoon was good but it became a drag later on. The music of Junnon is ringing in my ears as I write this, "Kisse ko mohabbat ka hain junnon, kisse ko..."

"Wagle ki duniya" was so funny. I loved "Chunni" too. "Byomkesh Bakshi" was the most haunting detective serial of all times. I remember one particular episode where the killer kills through cycle bells, so innovative. "Mr. yogi", "Udaan", "Potli baba ki", "Vikram aur betaal"...I can go on and on and on. I will tell you some of the other stories later. I have a class now, so have to run but my comments are not finished yet...

Hey i did not forget 'Gayab': that cute little character in a turban, fanning himself with a leaf teaching good manners and behaviour to ppl..and i have included the title track too..jo kuch mujhe yaad tha..'Gayab aaya..'

'Kile ka rahisya': yes remember that khoon ke haath ka nishaan on ppl's back..it used to creep me out..i was shit scared, always made it a point to sit with papa and talk rather than watch..

And 'Udaan' was a special favourite of my family..and it used to be sponsored by "LAZER BLADES" and whenever, wherever we heard the ad we used to rush back..my whole family i mean..even make hasty leave from hosts ;-)

'Gul..': was my first about Kashmir..my Parents had been to Kashmir and i had heard a lot about shikara..i saw it here first!

'Wagle ki duniya':Ek episode mein wagleji's family and also their neighbor buy 'thaan' mein kapda..to save money..and then all the furnishing, curtains, sofa covers, their sari and shirt and every thing is made of the same..and the episode ends when the family goes to their neighbour and are greeted by them wearing the samr cloth..LOLz.

'Byomkesh Bakshi': I remember the episode as well..the murderer used 'Gramaphone pins' in cycle bells to kill ppl..and bakshi used a China plate to save the man...

Arre baap re ..kya bataun..kahaniya khatam hi nahin hoti mere paas...I thought i had forgotten but this has been a Trip to Childhood for me..

More to Come....I have missed out:
'Zigma', 'The sword of Tipu sultan', 'Christmas Carol'and 'Lux kya scene hai', 'Ek se baadke ek','Stone Boy'....aur bhi yaad aayenge..dheere dheere :-)

P.S: Request to everyone plz keep adding all the missing serials..I shall update soon.

Incorrigable me,kya karun yaad aa gaya..

"Ek Do Teen Chaar..chaaro mil kar saath chale toh kar de chamatkaar..kabhi kisi se juda na ho hum hai aaise yaar...Ek Do Teen Char..." (do you remember the doll walla episode where the factory made doll with a 'bindi' has a secret hidden in it..how old was i ..verry young..par yaaddash dekkho ;) )

AND "Appu and Pappu": about a boy and an elephant...'Appu aur pappu ki dekkho yaari..kitni sacchi kitni pyaari....'

ALSO, do not miss out on the title tracks of animations and children's programs that i have included...mujhe woh yaad the..sigh!! Nostalgia!!!!!

I have "Mile Sur Mera Tumhara" too incase you need it.

I also loved watching "Republic Day" parade and all the jhankis that would follow it. After which we would get ready and goto school for parade and would get two laddos (I actually wrote a post on it on 26 Jan 2005)

Do you remember that Sardarjee that would come on Krishi Darshan? He is my relative and lives in Delhi. Infact, we still call him "Krishi Darshan Uncle"...LOL It was simply the most boring program ever.

"The World This Week" was my Dad's favourite. "Osheen" was me and my mom's favourite. It was such an innocent serial. Loved it.

"Street Hawk" was my favourite too. It had a cult following in India though it was a flop in US.

"Vikram Beetal" was so creepy...he he. I would always wonder why Vikram will carry beetal again and again..he he.

Do you remember "Chaupal". I think it was most innovative teaching program ever.

I remember few serials but cannot remember it's name as if now. I will post it when I do get them in my head...:-)

Nice to see the name of my serial "karmchand" on the list, just to recreate the old DD magic, am doing it again, this time on SONY.Will broadcast sometime in sept

  36. Anonymous Says:

Great compilation. It just makes you so nostalgic. I just wanted to add another one that I just remembered...Showtheme..clippings from Hindi films. I wish the TV channels had some sense to air serials of this quality rather than the junk that we get to see today. Even reruns of these old serials would be better than the new ones today. I just wanted to add a couple more serials that I just remembered...Showtheme which showed film clippings based on a theme every week...PA Saab...our very own version of Yes Minister.

thanks a lot nidhi 4 doing such a gr8 job...well i remember few lines from my fav serail yug title song which i like 2 share with all....there might be some mistakes
    yug badla badla hindustan
asfaaq chandrasekhar azaad ne jab maar ke kaat macha di thi
jab chad faansi par bhagat singh ne
    kya keemat di azaadi ki
    poore shaheedon ki kurbaani
lahun ban gaya hai kya paani
isi desh ke liye jaan di sochete honge veer balidani
shaan tirange ki rahene ko lakhon log huye kurbaan
apne liye hi jeene laga kyun
aaj ke yug ka har insaan
    yug badla badla hindustan

so meaningful lyrics by kamleshwar ji..............really miss dose days a lot.....
